Floppy follies
I remembered this story from a few years back, thought I would share.
We all have those "friends," you know, the ones that think they know everything about computers but really don't have a hope of a clue. Yeah, those ones.
Anyway, one of these guys I knew was ranting and raving about what brand of floppy disk was superior to all others. He claimed "CH" brand disks dominated the market and everybody, even big manufacturers like Kao and Sony put their name on them. Thinking this guy was out of his mind, I asked who "CH" was.
He picked up a floppy disk and showed me the letters "CH" in the corner of the floppy next to the shutter. I'll be danged, sure enough it was there. I then proceeded to turn the disk the other way around (so the text on the shutter wasn't upside-down" and told him the letters were actually "HD" not "CH". HD standing for high density.
