Msn &windows Messenger
Hi! Im using XP what I wanted to know is today I used Windows Mwssenger and it said there was a new version for download so I downloaded it.
WHen it finished downloading it installed MSN Messrnger and now I have bot MSN and Windows Messenger on my system.
I thouught XP coulf only use Windows Messenger and not MSN
Anyone know why this is?

Same thing happened to me, I like the msn messenger better, but everytime that I launch outlook express windows messenger pops up. Argh! Damn you M$!

In Tools | Options uncheck "Automatically log on to Windows
Messenger"

I too was cursing MS last night after being fooled into installing a completely seperate app under the guise of an upgrade. What in the world was MS thinking?
That being said I too prefer MSN Messenger. Does anyone know if the video conferencing feature is now available to other OS's besides XP?

It IS unchecked, it doesnt log into windows messenger, it just starts the application, outlook express uses it to find out whos online
