    i have lcd screen distortion

just had my laptop screen replaced and have just noticed that the image on the screen arcs slightly upwards from the bottom middle(about 1mm up). this is quiet obviously not perfect but not though totally distressing...
Is this a problem???. im not to sure with lcd screens. crt's I find 99 percent of the time are distotred but can be adjusted... my laptop screen has no shape adjustment facility as far as i can discover...

any ideas on weteher it may be related to the fact that ive recently installed direct x 9 beta??? i've seen all sorts of graphical anormalities caused by incompatible drivers but not this one. it seems more of a physical defect,,but i don't know
    E R R O R...

it may just be that whoever replaced the screen did not put it in straight (unlikley but a possibility)

you should be able to remove the front bezel by removing 2 screws and !carefully! prying the bezel apart (starting at the corner) with a small flathead screw driver. check to make sure the lcd is lined up properly. if its not, fix it, if it is, you may just have a defective lcd. if its defective, its up to you to decide weather or not its a big enough bother to bring it back and get it replaced again.

ive just taken the thing apart to put a new graphics card in it(and no,the problem did exist before ) i dont think i could pull it to pieces again just yet.

i just downloaded the dis/assembly diagrams for the laptop and will do what you have suggested when i get a couple of minutes spare..
must check to see if the screen has in fact been seated properly..

    anyway thanks
