    Xbox Live

    Hi,

    Anybody here signed up to Xbox live? If so, post your Gamertag and i'll see you...well, speak to you...online. Mine is Malestrom. Doesn't MotoGP just kick a$$ on Live...its flipping brilliant.

    Anybody managed to figure out Whacked! yet. Umm...is it me or was it designed for six year olds to play?

    I also have UC (Unreal Championship) but i'm "not allowed to play it" yet as its a chrissy present from the wife....bugger.

    Woohoo...live rocks!

    Bummer....gee i thought everyone in the US had easy access to some form of broadband? Or are you not in the US Cobra? (edit: the flag next to your name answers that..duh!). That suxs...i remember using Dial-up...i'd hate to have to go back...uggg.

    Ahhh..so does Cobra have teh gay then? That explains it then...they don't let people with teh gay have broadband and i beleive that there is a clause in the M$ Terms of Use for Xbox Live that states "Not to be used by people with teh gay".

    In fact, now that i think about it, one of the signup questions was:

    "Do you, or anyone you know, have teh gay and if not would you like some?"

    Obviously, i answered no....

    I have xbox live. My gamertag is Severd Hed
    I am not able to play the MotoGP demo, it locks up every time i try it.
    I have played the whacked demo once, and it really just sucks.
    I also have Unreal Championship and MechAssault, both of which are alot of fun

    There have been some reports of bad Live disks...perhaps you should get them to send you another? MotoGP is really quite good, shame to miss out. As for Whacked!, yeah, i came to the same conclusion although some online sites seemed to say it was a great game before Live launched...go figure

    I'll keep an eye out for you, once i'm 'allowed' to have my UC disk (grrrrrr!) i'll probably see ya online. Whats MechAssault like? Isn't that the one with the mega-expensive controller thingy?

    Bad news i think Mayet, Live isn't available in Aus yet by the looks of it. Check out the Australian Xbox.com website...no mention of Live that i can see. Check out the UK site and you'll see Live banners and headers plastered around. We aren't actually supposed to have it in the UK until March 2003 but they are running a 'tester' program between now and then and i signed up for it. £40 for the Live starter kit (includes two games & headset) which gives 12 months subscription to the service. I get from now until March FREE!! Woohoo! Don't bother ordering a UK or US starter kit as they only work in the relevant region apparently.

    Sorry its bad news Perhaps you could check out the forums at the Aus site and see whats going on with regard to Live....i'm sure something must be in the offing....

    Indeed Splinter Cell is a masterpiece of a game. GTA Vice City is the only thing that's been able to steal my attention away from it lately...

    No, MechAssault is a mech game that is more action based than simulation. the controls are pretty simple, and it is alot of fun.. Steel Battalion is the $200 mech simulator with the 40 button controller

    Ahh right gotcha. I'll keep an eye out for MechAssault on pre-owned at my local store as i've spent enough recently...the wife and I 'had words' last night...which basically meant i sat there nodding and saying "Yes darling" while she ranted for 20mins about me spending cash on 'my crap' when we need to save for Christmas Of course i see her point, but hey, i'm a guy for chrissakes...i simply could not miss an opportunity to sign up before everyone else in the UK now could I?
