Changed COmputer name and from Domain to Workgroup
Have a laptop with XP Pro and Novell Client for Windows which I use for work. Logged in to Windows only and tried to network this laptop with my home network. In my feeble attempt to get my network to recognize the laptop, I changed the computer name and Domain to a WORKGROUP. After I rebooted, I am unable to login at all to the laptop. Tells me my id/password are invalid. Any suggestions (please be kind, feel like crap already)?
thanks....d

Your IT manager is gonna love you....
First, boot to safemode, login as administrator and change the settings back to how they were... If it lets you do that, there is hope

I don't know that you need to boot to safe mode, but you will need to log on with a valid user, this time a local user, that has admin group membership. If you don't have that info, take it back to work, your IT shop probably does have the admin password; and they will be less than glad to clean up this mistake for you.
In the future, be sure you have a valid local account created with admin group membership; login and test, before you make change like this. And never leave a domain using a cached domain login; you are liable to end up right here all over again...

Bring an offering to appease them.
Coffee will do, but just to make sure have it accompanied by a box of fresh doughnuts/pastries.

I don't think it has anything to do with the WorkGroup name. I always keep the workgroup name to default and it doesn't make a difference. More likely something else is messed up.
