XP doing what IT wants.......
O.K. I have been using XP for a while now and having a great time of it. Really like the setting and security. Had to re-install because I put in a bigger hard drive. Install went well, no problems. Set up the other users accounts and groups and when I set the reg key to hide the conrol panel it didn't work. I am using XP pro and using the same reg key that I used and worked last time but now XP is being a pain about it? Any suggestions?

Never mind. For some reason, now it worked. Must just be getting a little late for me. I do have another question. There is a reg key that will hide the run command and hotkey. Now, if I used that to hide and disable it, how would I be able to get it back?

Export the keys to a secure disk/folder/diskette... then (assuming explorer still works) when you want it back double click the exported reg file and it will ask you if you want to merge, say yes and it should be back.
Also you can find regedit.exe in c:\windows via explorer and run it from there.

Akuma, under XP, you can set restrictions based on the logged on user. you may want to implement the restrictions for one logon, but remove them for the admin logon. The greatest tool for XP is the global Policy editor.
start--> run--->gpedit.msc
