What do you charge per phone line & cat5 drops?

I was just asked, and I was thinking around $150/hour and $150 per drop.

I have never officially done any large offices, but this is about a 50 PC networking operation. They need me to do the computer drops and phone drops in addition to networking the entire lot and I do not know what to charge!?!?!

Any help would be great!

It sounds super high but people who run cable get paid $$$. WTF??? No school needed to run a darn cable...

We hire people to run cables and were quoted $185. for about a 75 foot run and the boss thought it was cheap. Turns out the job was way more difficult and the guys needed to go through the floor and it might run over by a lot. Maybe up to $300 for 1 damn cable. Hell the faceplate for the cable was $30.

Sounds nuts but for some reason you get paid well for doing this. Your per hour price may be a little off but you can get a decent amount of money. I'm thinking $100 per hour + materials.

Still to high...for around here anyway, I charge $80 per hour plus cost of parts

we charged $100 per drop flat rate. networking (not including drop) was billed at $100 per hour.

We charged $110-150 per drop with no hourly charge. We paid the installers $75/drop.

There is a place around here that charge $100 per drop. That means a faceplate with 4 jacks (2 data, 2 voice) would run you $400 for the entire run, regardless of length. I pulled a fast one on them and didn't even know it; the company I worked for went bankrupt right after their install of a handful of runs. They are still looking for the money I am sure!

£35/hr + parts, fuel, and travel time.

I was dead on with what I was asking except he usually will keep it in the $90/hour range so as not to blow there socks off right away. He also offers a service contract as well. Far more than I alone would have done.

Obviouslly, I did not get this job. It was a really big one and kinda intimidated me anyway, so I didn't mind not getting it. I did however, send the referal over to him. He has quite allot of experience, so he may be able to pull it off.
