Does it need it? I mean do you have a nice pretty rainbow of colours around the screen?

Look for sources of magnetism... big speakers, old type electricity meters, that sort of thing. If there is no obvious external cause, time to look at the warranty.

Goku, if your description is accurate, ie the monitor runs it's Degaussing coils at switch-on, there may be an option in the Menu to enable/disable auto-degauss at switchon.

If by Degauss you mean it needs Degaussing (ie NooNoo's description of colour patching), depending on whether the Degaussing is successful or not; if it is, suspect external magnetism as NooNoo said, if not, then the Degauss circuit is probably stuck on and is itself causing the fault, and needs to be repaired.

I think this is probably the case. I have seen monitors before that degaus every time you turn them on. I do not recall if there was a menu option to turn it on and off. Sounds like yours must have such an option if it just started doing it.

Thanks for all the responses. I guess it is just stuck as there is no option in the menu. So I will take it to a friend who fixes monitors. 1 hour 1/2 drive though.
