My theory is this ::
If I got a bad a$$ed comp, (raid, high end processor, vid), I want to deck it out, show it off and make it look coo. but ONLY after the performance is there.
On the topic of cars, making a car 'look fast' is called RICE. Rice is typically boys with their lil tail lights, fart pipe and neons under their car, thinkin its fast. These are the same people they say they have a turbo rotary with headers and pistons. (I have a video to prove this also ....a 2000 "GTR speical edition" mustang and he claims 13s with a turbo rotary w/ headers and pistons)

Personally, I make a chunk of $$$ from modding cases for customers, so two of mine are decked out both inside and out. People won't listen to advice on mobo's, chips, etc. even after they ask for it but loooove spending the long green for flourescent lights and led fans....

Personally, I think case modding shows your outward expression of your most inward geekiness! And I think that's great. High tech boys have to have high tech toys!

ARRRG!!!!!!! typed out a WHOLE BUNCH OF STUFF AND IT GOT DELETED!!!!!!!! ARRRGGG!!!!
for those woundering (since this is a computer forum) Rotaries are a (sort of) revolutionary engine. developed by a Scientist named Wankel (forgot his first name)... he had a unfortunate run in with German soldiers during Hitlers regime...
The Engine (which is only developed by Mazda now) actually was designed for as effieciant of a combustion engine as it could be( as compaired to the current V, | , W style of engines) it was very effiencet. it does NOT have Pistons, becasue there are no "chambers" (as you see in todays cars).
Rotaries are my favorite kind of engine, it has had its problems but in the year of 2003 Mazda is releasing a new Rotary with most of the problems worked out in the new RX-8 .... but it makes up for its RAW power... 250 BHP with 1.3 L of displacement (and in the new RX-8) UN-TURBO'd... incredible!)
for more info search on Google.com for Rotaries and you will find out the advanages and disadvatages of this wounderful engine...
and back to Fubarian 's post
Mustangs use V-8's. its (almost) impossible to have a rotary in a Mustang because the sheer weight of the mustang would bring the rotary to its knees .. the RX-7's and RX-8's were designed to be light, fast, and agile cars. and thats what they are...heh....
go to http://www2.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/rx8/index.jsp
for more info on the RX-8
Fubarian... that is great... post the link... i want to laugh....
FST1006 <--- is accepting donations to his "Rx-7" fund

I love rotary engines. Theres nothing better than getting 50k miles out of a new car then replaceing the engine.
Mazda was great when they were Datsun. ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM. BOOM HELP!!!!

its ok to make something look "modded" after the performance is there?
So you're justifying putting an airplane wing on a porche 911?
i don't care what the performance is, some things look bad regardless of what.
i don't see any typeR stickers on Ferarris, although the performance is there.

If people want to mod, then that's fine. Cases used to look boring or crappy. The Case industry has noticed how popular modding is. So why are they making premodded cases now???
Extra source of revenue them and for people who don't want to risk making mistakes on their projects.
Computers can be an artform too.

I mod my case so when I am home alone on a Saturday night wishing I had friends, drinking a few beers and downloading porn, I want to do it in style. Sure nobody sees it but it still nice there glowing on the floor. I say why not.

Found that "GTR mustang" with a rotary and turbo with headers, pistons, and runs 11s.
fair warning -- there's only a few non-work comments made (both said right off the bat "f@#$ing japanese writing on a mustang")
