    Is time of boot recorded somewhere??

    I know ive seen it somewhere but have forgoten where.

    I need to find out at what time i turned on my pc??? any ideas where this information is stored on a machine running windows xp??

    I think this may be right because I've been checking in there a lot lately to see if I have finally tweaked my abit board to stability. think I saw something about boot up

    Ive already checked.. no actual initial boot time.. and im not sure exactly which service is actually loaded first??

    on my old amstrad pc1512 , (circa 1984-5 ) it comes up with a message "last started at **** ,,,pity its not y2k compliant , although it does type a lot of letters for my wife, ps , i,ve got drdos and msdos 3.1,,,,,,looking for an upgrade soon (msdos 4.0) .....

    and before u all laugh ,this is a 8086 prosessor with 512k (YES KKKK) mem , but with an ISA scsi card has been known to copy cd,s (in dos mode) ,,,,,,,,,,,cdrwin or summot ????

    anyway , it,s ok it has a 20meg (nopt gig) h/drivre.

    Check the timestamp on pagefile.sys in %systemroot% and it will tell you when the system was last booted. It always carries the most recent boot time, +/- a second or two.

    Check the system uptime value in msconfig and do some math. That would work

    XP UpTime gives you the same value:

    Look for event 6009 with the detail "Microsoft (R) Windows NT (R) 4.0 1381 Service Pack 6 Uniprocessor Free." (Substitute XP details where necessary.)

    That is your first entry in the event logs | system on startup, followed shortly after by 6006 which is the event logs service starting.
