HP Colorado 5GB Tape Drive
I have installed an IDE internalColorado tape drive on my system, which is an AMD 200 and installed win98 SE. As windows loads the tape drive is initialised but I cannot see the tape drive in explorer or in the backup software that came with the tape drive. An icon appears in system\device manager and says it is working correctly, but unfortunately it is not. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with this problem or send me some software/drivers to enable this device to work in win98. Thankyou

If you are using Colorado backup that came with the drive, for some strange reason, the software will not find the drive even though it has been enumerated by the OS and does show up under device manager. This is a bug in the Colorado backup. I got Seagate backup for Win98 and had no further problems.

I've also fixed this symptom a couple times by replacing the data cable to the drive.
