Angry What a Day!

    What happened thus far today:

    - found out people in my old office (same company) dropped the ball, and now a whole pile of work is on my plate

    - I have to work late to finish that and a whole bunch of other crap at the same time

    - three email accounts in our email system got turned into stew because our head tech decided to do some tinkering and it didn't work.

    - it just so happens that these three email accounts belong to all the people working on one of these crap jobs. (including my own!)

    - went to Subway to get a sandwich and their debit card machine was down, so I had to sit around and wait for 20 minutes while it was being fixed. I didn't feel like walking to the bank in -25 degree weather.

    - my wife called, and said that she was at work and most of the other coworkers left the office for the bar. Only her and a few other people were left to finish the bulk of the day's work.

    Yeah, my day sucked.

    Yup sucks alright...

I just had a nice evening doing battle with porn diallers and a screwed outlook profile, definitely easier than yours.

    OK, follow up:

Our head techs on the west coast were trying to fix our email server remotely last night. After working for 12 hours straight, I decided to go home (this was around 7:30pm) as they were doing everything remotely via Netmeeting and there wasn't much for me to do. Unfortunately, their internet connection in Vancouver died for a few seconds and that was enough to terminate the Netmeeting session. They called me at home just after I had crawled into bed at 10:00 pm and asked me to go back to the office to re-connect the Netmeeting session. Now I am back at work again this morning to clean up the real work I have to do, and the email still has not been fixed. Apparently they are going to go at it again today....

    The saga continues.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
Aaah, that feels better!

    Sucks to be you, Mac!

I'm almost glad I'm not facing that for the time being.

Well, the email has been fixed. But our new employee lost his entire email account, but it was only a weeks worth of unimportant email so no big loss.

BUT, I was intending on taking this afternoon off so I could spend some time with my wife who also had the afternoon off. (since I worked some on the weekend, I was just going to shuffle my hours around on the timesheet.) But my boss said NO, because he was expecting some materials to come in today that we needed to work on. Well guess what? It's 5pm and THEY DIDN'T SEND A DAMN THING. I sat here all afternoon twiddling my thumbs!

Mac, go to the nearest liquor store, buy a bottle of something (i like Jack Daniels, but thats just me), go home and get toasted with Mrs Mac and let it roll from there (hint hint)

as long as you don't get to toasted you'll feel a lot better about things in the morning
