Drive A: problems in Win95/98
Has anyone ever had a problem with WIN95 or WIN98 always trying to access the A: drive after start up. I have had this problem in both versions and I cant tell why it happens. It seams like after WIN95 or WIN98 starts up something is telling Windows to search for something on the A: drive. if there is no disk in the a: drive, the drive will spin until you stick one in. It does not matter what disk you put in the drive, but after you put one in the drive reads it and stops spinning. No window opens or anything. It is not trying to run a program or anything. It just wants to read the disk drive.
I have had this happen in both WIN95 and Win98. I just finished installing a brand new computer with WIN98 and it even happened there too.
I checked my WIN.INI files and there is nothing trying to run or load.
I also checked my start up files and deleted all of them in hopes to solving my problem with no luck.
Does any one have any suggestions?????
Has any one had this problem????
HELP.
Thanks,
Mike

Clear all your temp files and files in your documents directory on the start menu.

Clear your Run entrys also. If you ran a setup form Drive A:, windows will look for it until you clear the run history..
