New Vid Card Slows RAM test ???
Although this topic is related to another post, I generated it so it would be examined by itself.
I just replaced a PCI Vid Card (VooDoo3 2000) with another PCI Vid Card (GeFo 4 MX 440). I noticed a big difference in the POST RAM check time. With the old card, the RAM portion took 4 seconds @ 256MB of PC133. When I pull the card and insert the new one, this same portion of the test takes 15 seconds...hmmm. I went back and forth between cards with consistant results. I wonder if this is added evidence to my problem that the new card has very poor FPS in all games?
What do you think?
ASUS ATX super 7 w/AMD K6-2 @450 MHz,
FSB 100MHz,
PC133 @ 125MHz,
PCI @ 33MHz
ISA @ PCI/4
PCI LAN
