Distribution List - can people be cc'd?

I have a user who wants to set-up a distribution list that when the list is used, certain addresses in that list will go to the CC field while the rest go to the To field.

I think this is unneccessary (just like the users themselves), but I can see her point in wanting people be able to see at a glance if a message was meant for him/her or they are just being copied on something sent to his/her boss.

Man, does that make any sense? Bueller?

The only way I see it happening is having to manually enter each person into the certain field.

I've only ever seen the "distribution list" sending emails using the To: field.

That was my suggestion, but that's what the distribution list would help her avoid.

These people are too spoiled by good tech support (me). I wish they could just DEAL WITH IT. You can read 12 words of an e-mail and see if is something that directly concerns you (To) or just something you should read (CC).

If I understand her request, she has two groups of people she wishes to send email to, one in the To: collumn, the other in the CC: column. Why not two distribution lists?
