Spywareblaster - prevent spyware from being installed
Is what it claims, and so far seems to work.
There is a new version out and shedloads of updates - including one for the evil new.net.
You MUST however, do an update immediately after install. For those that downloaded before February this year, there is a new version and to get the update you need the new version.

I tried it and thought it sucked. You could run it on startup but there was no way to minimize it to the tray. I found that it was way to intrusive for my liking.

Once you run it and make the registry changes, there is no need to run it again - until a new update is released, of course.
