How to loose a geek in 10 seconds or less
1.) Surprise him by re-organizing all those icons on his computer desktop
for him.
2.) Throw out his current mouse pad and replace with one that has a picture
of cute little kittens.
3.) Ask him to flex his mighty geek muscles, and help you sign up for AOL.
4.) Help him break his caffeine and junk food habit by hiding his coffee,
cola and chips.
5.) Prove to him that you are ready to really commit by asking him his ROOT
password.
6.) Announce that you finally learned to program,... the VCR! It's a good
thing too as you were able to record Oprah over all those old Star Trek
tapes.
7.) Stand behind him as he writes his e-mail or chats on the web, helping
him with his spelling and offering your suggestions.
8.) Motivate and inspire, by constantly reminding him to stop sitting at the
computer and do some work instead.
9.) undoubtedly he also loves Valentines day, mention that you can't wait to
find out what he has planned!
Failure is not an option -- its a "feature" of Windows.
Mama never told me geekhood was gonna be like this....

this is the one that drives me ABOSLUTELY nuts!!!!!!!!!!! don't know why it bothers me so much, but it does. . . . . and the wife does it FREQUENTLY. then gets mad at me when I ask her to leave me alone.
I'd also like to add one to the list.
while watching your geek boyfriend / husband troubleshoot a problem that obviously has him completely perplexed and you can clearly see he is completely preoccupied with the problem, ask any series of completely meaninglus trivial questions then become angry when he doesn't respond to you.

What about..."Meet him on the internet, drive 6 hours to be with him and he still spends more time on his computer and Playstation than with you, then complain after 2 1/2 years of marriage and two kids that he "doesn't spend enough time with you" even though he is on his home computer less than 10 hours a week and only turns on the Xbox when you aren't around or are asleep, while the rest of his free time is consumed with washing dishes and eating and feeding and changing and playing with the kids."
Oops. I think I let that one get personal.
