    Post Ensoniq Drivers

I have 6 virtually new Ensoniq ES1370 AudioPCI soundcards.....these are not creative ensoniq.....they have ensoniq printed on the circut board.
a stick on label on the back has the folowing:

    E293824 AudioPCI 9718 6000566
    ASSYNO: Q1 REV: E
    ASSEMBLED IN USA

I have downloaded drivers till I am blue in the face and NONE of them work.......does any one have the original driver CD for this sucker......really like to use them ...the card appears to support front and rear channels.

If anyone has them I'll be happy to cover duplication and shipping cost of the CD.

    Thanks in advance

The Ensoniq's are picky about having the right drivers. However even a boxed retail Creative PCI may still just have ENSONIQ silk screened on the board (I use one myself - 1371 chipset).

Usually, the 1370 chipset indicates an OEM card, and I find the retail drivers don't work for them. I have drivers that should work, but the file is 17M, so I guess I can't email it to you.

As you suggest, finding the driver CD for the OEM card would be the best solution.

It's also important to ensure that previous versions of the drivers are correctly removed before installing alternatives, otherwise the installer can get locked in a confused loop of not being able to either install or un-install.

The loadable wavesets are 2M, 4M or 8M, although the 8M set only comes with the Retail card. The choice is made in the driver, but I don't know what happens if it doesn't load, I guess there would be an error message. I don't see any WIN.INI or SYSTEM.INI entry that is clearly for the waveset, if that's what you mean.
