    Shuttle Mini Systems...

So has anyone used any of these Shuttle mini systems?

I am re-designing my office (small family owned business) and one of the concerns that my boss/mother has is cosmetics. I was going to be replacing 3 of the systems soon anyways for a new software we are switching to. I can get:

    Shuttle SV25 Mini System
    Intel Celeron S370 1.2GHz Retail
    256MB PC133
    20GB 7200RPM HDD
    52X CD-ROM

    All for $348.00 without OS.

Looks good to me but I havent used them before so I am not sure. I am thinking of going to a Tulatin PIII in them instead but I can get the Celeron for so much less... and these are just basic workstations or POS stations.
If its not broke, then upgrade anyways!

Who ever said computers were logical?

i've been using an SV24 for quite some time now and am impressed with the system. be advised that they are somewhat louder than other systems, tho the 25 is quieter than the 24. the onboard components are good and for what you want them for they would be ideal in my opinion. i havent had lick of trouble with mine in over a year of daily use.

I had some friends with them and they seem to like them, specally for space/portability. But if this is gonna be an office system, that 1.2ghz celery will be more than enough, you will probably not see the dif in it and the P3, unless you are doing sound/video editing/gaming

Just about How loud are we talking?

To give you an idea of what I have in this office noise wise is a computer that acts as a file server. It has a Delta 7200RPM fan going full power all the time with 3 extra case fans in it.

This is in the real sturdy black cases that you see the Alienware computers in.

At home I have the same setup but with 4 case fans.

Are they really louder then this?
