[RESOLVED] CM18330 Audio Adapter
Major problem. Someone upgraded a computer to Win98 and doesn't have any reference books, manuals, or ideas on what some of their devices are. I did have a little preknowledge of what they were in Win95, but other than that... I am at a loss. The sound card (and video for that matter) are built onto the motherboard itself. I don't have a clue what drivers are needed for the sound card either...
CM18330 Audio Adapter (x4) - Sound Pro
information on the chips itself:
HT1869V+
FBF54
9803
PCI
Does anybody have a clue how to detect what the manufact. is of a sound card (or video) that is built on the motherboard? (The motherboard itself has no identifying marks as to tell me the type of motherboard either).. Is there any utilities out there to determine any of this information??? Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi !
Download here a small utility for DOS. The beautifulest and easiest way to determine your computer's chipset.
Here you are: http://www.holin.com/html/download.htm
This prog. don't need any installation - just download and unzip to any you like dir,
remember to run it not under Windows in DOS prompt. Boot your system to DOS and run it, but to determine your video chipset you may run it as you like.
Some words about:
VGA Chip-set:
CONFIG attempts to identify the chip-set of any Super VGA card
which may be present. The following chip-sets can be recognised:-
ATI, NCR, Trident, Video 7, Genoa, Paradise, Chips & Technologies, Above,
OAK Technology, Tseng, ZyMOS, Cirrus, Ahead, Yamaha, S3, Matrox, ARK
Happy New Year!
