one of those days
So it started off as a day where you are thinking should I call in sick or just go in, I decided to head in. I get 4 miles from my house and got rear-ended, both of us (me and the other driver) are physically ok. His car the front end is smashed, he needs a new hood, grill, headlight brackets, and possible a new radiator. Me I need to bend my hitch back in to place, Thank god for Jeeps

Glad to hear you are ok.
I gotta say, I love a tow hitch - amazing how much more rear protection it gives you

I've had days like those.
After an incident like that - I'd judt go home and go to bed. It's safer there.

my reciever and tow hitch has saved my truck from damage more than once. i drive a Ford F250 4x4 so its got a little heighth to it. i've been rear ended twice, both time i barely felt it and came away with no damage. the other cars weren't so lucky. the last time i was hit by a little geo of some sort. my trailer hitch went through her grill, hood and radiator and part way into her engine compartment. it was a inline 4 cyl with front wheel drive. it tore her tranny loose from the engine and locked both up, we couldn't move her car out of the road, it had to be towed. its always good to be the big dog in a car accident
take care and tempt not the fates

One time in my El Camino, traffic came to a sudden stop on the highway. The tow truck behind me couldn't stop in time. He locked up his brakes and spun around sideways, so the back part hit me pretty hard.
I had a ding in the bumper a quarter inch deep. The Honda Accord that ran into him was spewing coolant.
