HP OmniBook XE3 Hinges
Anyone know where to get a set of dispaly hinges for this notebook. Hp will only sell the hings saddle (what the hinges I need attach to) or the whole display unit with all parts in it for around $1100!!!!

In case you haven't already done so, go here to check out parts breakdown for the XE3. Click on List all Parts...it shows the p/n for the hinge as being F2111-60948.
I performed a Google Search for that and came up with:
https://store.separts.com/OA_HTML_SE...%20&se6=detail
It says it is in stock and sells for $20.
Hope this helps you out...Good Luck!

thanks, but I need the hinges located in the display module, not the hinge saddle set that the display module hinges lock into.

no problem, I have a feeling that this search will lead in a dead end, but I do have to try and help my customer out.
Atleast you didn't suggest duct tape......

You should check if it is still in warrenty, the Omnibook XE3 normally has a 3 year warrenty as long as the hinges are not seperated HP should accept the claim.

Call HP for prices.

canadian that price is nearly $1000!!
I have checked the warranty through hp's site and it is no longer covered. Oh well, I already told the customer how much hp wanted and that I would spend a week looking for her to see if I can find any cheaper. That week is up. Time to let it be and move on, too many other fires that need to be stomped out.
thanks for the suggestions though (except the duct tape one)
