[RESOLVED] Audio ESS 1988 Allegro driver
I have a Compaq presario 17XL265 notebook, that the advanced sound controls, treble and bass are greyed out. Compaq tells me this is normal! I don't beleive it! Why would they give JBL speakers if they can't be adjusted?? I have only had the machine a week, but I am ready to send it back. Reinstalled the drivers and multimedia twice.
Any suggestions??

I agree with Compaq on this one ( A first for everything!!!). Some of the sound card chipsets do not allow you to adjust the bass & treble via the software, but leave it to the speakers own settings to adjust it.
