V.90 - V.92 Compatibility issues With Qwest Dial Up ISP
We just deployed 1200+ Compaq Evo 1015v laptops and Evo D510 desktop. The company decided to use Qwest Business Dial as an ISP, however Qwest is not V.92 compatible, According to Qwest anyway). Compaq says that the modem should recognize the V.90 standard and step down automatically. For some users this works, for some it soes not.
The issue is causing hang ups, inability to save a phone number, and anything else that can go wrong.
Apparently there is a string that we can add the the modem commands (according to Qwest) but Compaq is drawing a blank.
Laptop modem is a Conexant HSFi V92
Desktop Modem is a Lucent V.92
Any help? Anyone know about this string we can add to the command?
Thanks,
El C-
