    remote desktop

    OK I am playin' with my new laptop. (used new to me). It has XP installed and I have the Compaq restore disks. My question is I am trying to check the remote desktop operation out and I see I am spose to be able to access from any windows based PC. Problem is ...how do I install the client with restore disks or am I dead in the water with these disks. My other systems are all desktop home builds so the restore disks won't work obviously.

    You can download the Remote Desktop client for older versions of Windows here.

    There's even a Mac version available if needed.

    OK thanks for the link. So what you are telling me is there is no way to use the restore disc as an ordinary XP disk that has the remote client software.

    Another reason to stay away from branded PC's!!!
