diablo ii won't connect to server
have a buddy with a P4 1.8 with WinXP. cable modem connection. Ultima connects fine...other on-line games also work. IE works fine. even without the firewall on it won't connect to battle.net. it times out apparently. diablo ii's tech support is a vast emptiness. anyone have any suggestions? is there a configuration setting? if there is where the hell is it?

Is NAT being used?
With b.net, i think you need to open ports 4000 to udp/tcp and port 6112 also, the tech support pages tell ya what you need to open.

King of the Mermaids
A friend of mine is having a similar problem. though he can connect, it doesnt last. We tried it again Friday night, and with out fail,we connect to BNet ok, start to play WarCraftIII,then after about 15 minutes, he times out. He has to reboot to get back in. Not sure what config hes got, but he suspects is ISP. I believe he's got YahooDSL maybe..,

I had that problem with XP (along with my 128mb card not wanting to work with it) and I applied the patch from their website and it started working fine

thanx all...will have him try the patch first. there is a linksys router involved also, so the problem may be there, altho other online games work fine.
