Power up issue?? Will she or won't she??

    Hey Gang,

I have a client computer that is acting extremely weird. It is an XP 2000 cpu running on an Asus A7V motherboard with 256mg ram. If the machine is warm, it will start and run like a champ. You can start it up and shut it off 1000 times without so much as a hiccup. But if its cold, NO POWERUP!! The only way to get around it is to unplug the power cord from the power supply and then plug it back in and the machine starts right up. I just recently replaced the board, cpu, ram and power supply due to electrical surge and I have since replaced the power supply again in an attempt to correct the problem. No Joy!! Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance for your help

the other thing to try is to power it on cold, then press and hold the reset button for a few seconds.

I had an abit board that did this, and have seen it reported numerous other times. for my abit board, the issue was RAM. when i popped in crucial ram, no more post problems.
