P4 too hot?
Hiya,
I recently upgraded my PC, I replaced the CPU to a P4 2.40, RAM 512 of DDR and an Intel D845GEBV2. and added a 400 w PS.
The cpu is running between 107 and 111(got it to 122 after playing Iron Storm for two hours)
Isnt this a little hot for a 2.4?
When I was building workstations (the last one I built was a 1.7 which was running in the high 90's.
Whadda you think?
thanks.

Sounds fine to me mate (as long as we're talking in fahrenheit). Thats not going to do any damage, but if a really hot day comes along and it goes a bit higher, you might look at some arctic silver and/or a better hsf.

Already workin on the heatsink and Fan combo, what's your opinion on the new Vantec?
My case is a bit snug so I may opt for a larger one soon, with more space for fans. (i have a front and a rear now but i mickey moused the rear one in as there is no real spot for it.
Thanks!

ah.... which one? if you refer to the VA4-C7040 (not a great chance) then it's a nice one, but beaten by volcano 7+ and so on. Sorry for the brief answer, short on time.
