Laserjet 1000 cables
Anyone know where I can find cables for these printers? I looked on HP's site, couple cable catalogs, search on google, can't find it anywhere. It s a proprietary cable for the printer, USB plugs into computer and what look likes a parrallel port on the printer. We had one damaged in a box and a customer lost theirs so I need to get them a replacement cable plus I like to have all cables I use in stock.
Please help,
Tony

Yep. I had a problem with one that an owner here uses at home. HP sent a replacement cable as it was under warranty. Stupid to make it so proprietary.
Can call HP Parts Direct for free at
(800)227-8164
good luck!

It looks like the P/N for your cable is Q1342-69001...per HP's PartSurfer. They want $78 for a new one or $70 if you send in the bad one as an exchange.

Actually, the -69001 p/n is the exchange number. The -60001 is the original number.
Yeah, I saw the add for $92 too...but HP's price of $70 with the exchange is better.

A new printer goes for $199, plus shipping and tax. The cable is included.
Click on the link for Detailed Specs...
A replacement toner cartridge for this LaserJet costs about $55.

$207 shipped on pricewatch...not worth spending $100.
