ie hijack
hello,
A week ago I got a message through my IE6 browser asking to install this scatchcard plugin, Now I know better so I canceled it out. Dang plugin intalled anyhow! And I mean its taken over this Pc big time, added a new tool bar at top and bottom, changes your home page, and worse it pops windows up even if Ie isnt launched eats systems resourses quick. I installed ADaware 6.0 (updated)
it found stuff in the reg. cookies and dll files in sys32 folder.had to boot in safe mode and remove files in use,del all cookies, temp,ie temp, history and new additions to favorits
kinda have it under control for the moment, still have the tool bar(name switches) . if I reboot I get message to change my home page and message asking if I want $200 in casino credit
this is BS
any tips/suggestion beyond-Dont install plugins
thanx

run either spybot or adaware or both. They should be able to get rid of it for you. If not then your either gonna have to roll up your sleaves and get into your registry and search for the bugger or your gonna have to do a fresh install. Cheers.
