[RESOLVED] Media Vision Pro / Premium 3D

my problem is this
direct x has no drivers for my Media vision sound card
most programs run fine however some games don’t
music play back is fine, but often sound effects (esp. voice-overs) have a strange echo / repeat effect
slowing the whole system down and making it impossible to listen to speech in some games (e.g. Alpha centauri, LED wars)
the card comes up as
Media Vision Pro / Premium 3D
on control panel, system

any one know of any DX6 or similar drivers or how to cure my prob.

I had a Media Vision Pro sound card as well and I had the same problems you described. In the end I got fed up with went to the store and bought a cheap sound card ($25). The Media Vision sound card is an 8 bit sound card, and most new software supports 16 bit sound, so either way I think a small investment for a new soundcard is a "sound" on at that.

looking at getting a proper sound blaster card, not one that emulates
