    Multi-boot?

Does Windows XP Home support multi-boot config? I wish to install Linux. Thanks.

I don't see a reason why it would not work with xp home, but if worse comes to worse linux has a boot utility that will boot any os you want!

It can..but you have to have linux installed before installing xp..then xp writes a boot.ini file to the root of the C drive that references both operating systems.

You have that backwards, you must install windows first, it installs its boot loader and will write over any other non MS entries, where as linux will install grubor lilo which is friendl with just about any OS

    multi boot problems

I have win98/ Winxp home / and Mandrake Linux on my system. I have 3 primary partitions for each system.
It uses Linux lilo to select operating systems.
The Problem I am having is that by installing Linux several times trying to get everything set up correctly I have mutiple listing for the operating systems.
I think it lists them as win2 win3 etc.
I would like to know the file you edit to get rid of the references that I don't need now. Their must be a file I can edit to get rid of the extra references.
I had it set for the master boot record to go on my 98 partition hda I believe. That was the only way I could get the boot menu to work
    Any help would be appreciated.......
