Can't access folder after reinstalling XP
I had to reinstall XP on my computer. I did not reformat my hard drive because I had files, mp3s, pictures, etc that I had not back up on a cd rom yet. (I reinstalled because Windows lost the drivers for my CDRW and DVD ROM). After the installation was complete, I went to access the old folder that all of my files were in. All I get is an "Access is denied" something about it not being accessible. I can see the folders if I boot up the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" I can browse the folder. The path of the folder was C:\Documents and Settings\Solo. Of course the user is me Solo. I thought I should be able to view the contents as long as I had administrative rights. What's wrong here? If I can't get access to that folder, I might as well have reformatted the whole drive. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Right click the folder you want, click properties, security, advanced, owner, and take ownership of the folder and all of the subfolers.

Double posting confuses and makes it take longer to get your question answered, just a friendly reminder
