Post Dos will not recognize my SB16.

When I run a program under full dos (not dos prompt) it does not recognize my Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 Plug and Play soundcard. Is there anything I can do or download to remedy this?

Yes, there is something you can do. And it is actually a bit more complicated to figure out what you need to download from Creative than it is to actually configure the card once you have everything you need. It's been some time so I forget what files you need. Go to the Creative site. You can do a search for your card by OS. Read through what is there for DOS. If you're not sure what to download, take everything. You can extract the readme files and read them at your leisure offline. Once you find the right files and the right set of instructions, it should be a snap - the instructions are clear and the configuration utilities are easy to use. Good luck.

do you have the cd that came with the sound card, if you do run the Setup, when it installs the apps it also edits the autoexec and config.sys for DOS stuff.
Or just run the install for DOS.
Actually probably be better to go to the web site get the newest one: http://support.soundblaster.com/file...n95&prod=sb_16

When you say DOS do you mean F8, then choosing command prompt, because if you boot on a boot disk you will have to configure the boot disk too.
