Font colors
I am trying to help my Grandfather out, he is trying to change the Font Colors in Outlook Express. Everything we pick, still ends up Black. I even went into tools, options, send. He has HTML checked, I think this is right. I just can't think of where else to look. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Dave

you can change it when you write an email , click on format at the top then font and it should let you change the color and size and font style

Or to change it generally, open Outlook Express..at the top, go to tools/options/you should have a compose tab..at the top of that are font settings..color, font, and point size for the default can be changed here

Also remember that some people will send you e-mails that are HTML and have all the font/background colors set in the HTML document. The only thing that you can do for those is raise the font size in the view menu.
Only Plain text e-mails will definately have the settings set in appearance
another place to look is in Internet Explorer:tools>internet options>general>colors button, that might help some

I went on Microsofts help page and, one of the things I found was if you use extra-large fonts sometimes it disables the differant styles along with colors. I'm thinking this might be it, I know grandad has huge fonts on his computer. Haven't had a chance to check into this. Thanks for all the replys. Dave

I have Outlook Express 6 also. I have tried changing the default font to Ariel through the Tools menu and have tried changing the font for individual emails through the Toolbar. It continues to default to New Times Roman. When I change the font color or use stationary for emails they don't show on my screen, but the recipient sees them.
