DFI has been around for a while. The very first computer I ever build had a DFI motherboard, and believe it or not, my parents now use it to get to the internet. Its an old PII system. There nothing to write home about, but atleast for me and now mom and pop, its been a solid mb. heres a link....

Oh yeah, go with the ASUS A7N8X. Make sure you get the latest revision board whatever you get though... future upgradeability... I think A7N8X is up to revision 2 now..

Nah, just seen alot of friends have to RMA their boards, and personally having to RMA over 15 video cards. The company I buy from finally just sent replacement (non chaintech) cards for the rest (~20) of the cards even though they were not showing any problems.....yet.

Guess they were having bad problems with them if THEY decided to replace them all

I've just got a Asus A7N8X deluxe which is nice, stable and absolutely crammed with features. If cost is an issue why not try and find some Asrock motherboards as I believe that these are made by Asus but come in cheaper.

Well for my money there can be no question 8RDA is the choice. Although the + model includes a good nic you need not spend the extra money. It has a lot of features and it also has an onboard post display which can be configured to show the cpu temp when its done booting. Its a nice looking board and its very very fast. It is also very overclockable using a tbred B chip as Jaeger can testify to. If you want more infor go to google.com and type 8RDA you will bring up a long list of pages with people having great sucess with that board It appears to go to at leat XP 3000 or more 6 USB 2.0 onboard and as fot the sata that appears to be something thats more of an curiosity then a real speed improvement as shown by the new bench tests on the maxtor ATA-133 Diamondrive series 9

Have to agree that of you want a good no frills board that will look good and perform well go for a SOLTEK.

They are very reliable and represent high quality at a reasonable price

I have the MSI K7N2G...it's a pretty good board, although you must get very high quality RAM for stability. I have Kingston DDR333 and for some reason the onboard video is highly unstable. MSI recommends Crucial memory, but I haven't been able to check it out yet...however, it seems you have an add-on card already, so that will be no problem for you. I have had no issues with the board other than that video problem. The board is a nice purplish color - looks real nice in my window. All-in-all a nice board, but a stickler for quality.
