You had 12 years of schooling to learn the language, and if you can't demonstrate the desire to learn the language of the country you choose to live in, then I suggest you find somewhere else to dwell.

Unfortunately we aren't. So is it to much to expect those looking for "a better life" in America to make the attempt to learn it's national language?

As one in the article said, "I want to be a doctor, and because of that I can't". Well if you're smart enough to become a doctor, you should have no problem learning English.

I guess it's just easier to b!tch, moan and protest.

They have zero tolerance for fighting and drugs, how about zero tolerance for idiots.

Plus, you notice the quote from the girl who said that her dreams were shattered and she wouldn't become a doctor. Well honey, if you can't read english, and you can't pass a simple high school test, OF COURSE YOU WILL THANKFULLY NEVER BE A DOCTOR.

And despite what others may think, I feel it is fine for 12 graders to protest something like this, even though they are dead wrong on their thinking.

English is my second language and spanish my first language.. i am 28 yrs old and i have been here for 15 years.. i took those stupid tests and passed it in the first time.. those punks that cant pass the test should not be puting english as their second language as an excuse... the tests are simple enough.. and for that girl that wants to be a doctor.. give me a break.. she is just saying that so people feel sorry for her.. if she cant pass a high school test.. you dont deserve to go to med school.. and if she does.. i hope she fails every single test..
