    33,000 feet, that is a long way to fall. I presume most of those sucked out were dead long before they hit the ground. What a horrible experience.

    I remember a long time ago an air hostess fell from 25000 feet and survived - had most of her bones broken, but she did survive.

    As to these poor people landing in a jungle wouldn't help their chances of surviving any. My thoughts are with those who mourn.
