Quake 3 problem
Decided to blow the dust off of my Quake 3 disk and installed it on my new system rebuild (new processor, new harddrive).
Reinstalled most of the mods from my archive, and point release 1.32 - punk buster enabled.
Using All Seeing Eye (subsribed awhile back). I sorted through all the Excessive servers and found some (finally) with protocol 68.
The problem I am having is when I try to connect to some games I get "invalid-cd key" error message - retrying - attempt no. 2 - same thing, etc.
I double checked and I have the correct key entered (no typos) - and I am able to connect to some servers (although I haven't found a good excessive one yet).
Any ideas?

Ooh, this is a really annoying and vexing error that has plagued many people. Including myself.
One fix that has worked for many is to make sure that all "q3key" files in your Quake3 directory tree are deleted EXCEPT for the one in the baseq3 directory.
Another fix you can try is to drop back to point release 1.31 using the Quake 3 Version Switcher. There are still a few good Excessive servers (last time I checked) using the 1.31 point release because of this problem with 1.32, and I personally haven't seen the "invalid cd key" message using 1.31.

Yo Poseidon....
It is a problem with All Seeing Eye.
Morticia had the same problem.
The solution (and to keep 1.32) is do not connect through All Seeing Eye. Write down the IP address and connect manually and it works with 1.32.

So it seems to be. Now I can play with 1.32 -
Thanks
