    Updating to Windows XP

I have a P4 (512 ram, 1.5Ghz, 40G HDcurrently running Windows 98 se. I did upgrade to Windows Me on it. My printer, scanner, copier(HP r65 officejet) wouldn't run properly. I could print and copy with it but not scan using Windows Me. I couldn't seem to resolve the scanner driver issue with HP, so I went back to Windows 98. My problem, I am considering going to Windows XP but am wondering if I will have the same problem (driver issues) with my printer. It was a costly item when purchased and I am not in a position to replace it. Anyone got any ideas as I am reluctant to do the big swap and then reswap again.

    Updating to Windows XP

Thanks for the information. I have marked it and will read. I am just a bit hesitant about this as HP did say that there were drivers for Me and there weren't. More stuff to ponder.

True, however if these drivers are part of winxp, there is a better chance of succeeding - especially if the printer is connected and switched on when XP is installed.

HP tends to say that there are no drivers when the drivers do indeed exist. It took me weeks to get a sound driver for my HP, so it would be wise to not search HP's website for drivers.
