[RESOLVED] no cd sound cable is hooked up ans setting are right

my cd sound worked before and the cable i know is not loose. The setting are all correct. I think i might have to have a cda driver or something like that. If i plug headphones into my cd rom i can hear music but i cant hear it out of the speakers. No one has been able to help me yet. If someone can solve this problem i will buy them their own domain .

Hi,
You probably already tried this but just in case:

Right-click on your speaker icon on your taskbar...select Open Volume Controls...make sure that your CD is not Muted or turned down. If it is not even visable, click on Options/Properties...make sure that there is a check next to CD...if not, then check it and then OK.

If all of that is OK, next question: Do you get any sounds at all out of your speakers? Is it possible that your sound card has gone bad...are the speakers still hooked up properly and turned up?

Just a couple of ideas...
