    Resolved [RESOLVED] MPU-401 Compatible

I am having problems with my sound getting fuzzy on my 6 month old pc.
    Sound card; MPU-401 Compatible
When my sound gets fuzzy, the only way I can fix it other than rebooting is to open a game program called Quake3 Arena, as soon as the program opens, the sound clears up. This leads me to think that the Q3A program resets my card or something. I am not a PC genuis, but I think that I need a new driver for my card...
I d/l Directx v.7.0.a and then reinstalled the game file, but the problem is still there. The sound isnt fuzzy all the time...just alot of the time...
    Thanks for the help.

What Sound Card do you have?

Maybe the driver installation is faulty. Go to Device Manager and remove any driver related to your sound card. Then reset and put the Driver Installation CD or diskette in.
Give the path when asked. It should install the drivers properly and it should work.

    Good luck.
