XP Defrag and NSW 2003 Disagree

I am having a problem with a newly upgraded version of Norton 2003 System Works in conjunction with Windows XP Home, installed on D drive on an NTFS partition. I did not start having the problem until I upgraded to Norton 2003.

Norton displayed an alert saying drive D was 20% fragmented so I opened my MMC and XP displayed the same results. I defragged out of XP which now shows 0% fragmentation but no matter what I do {restart, remove/read the sensor, etc} Norton still displays 20% fragmentation.

I may have thought of the answer while typing….may have to defrag using Norton for Norton to show 0% rather than 20% fragmentation.

Any ideas while I try my idea?

    Thanks,

    Farrar

I really don't recommend Norton SystemWorks anymore. It was usefull on 98 and ME but I notice more problems with systems that have it in conjunction with 2000\XP.

My recommendation is to use Diskeeper. It is the fastest defrag tool period. http://www.executive.com/coverpage.asp
