Memory specs?

which is a better setting/memory for ddr400?

at 200MHz (2-3-3, 1T command rate) and 166 MHz (2-2-2, 1T command rate).

more confused with the 1T command rate. what does this stand for?

T = ticks = clock cycles (well not quite but it'll do !)

Smaller numbers = faster but also less 'reliable'

x-x-x refers to different 'refresh' or recharge timings for different things usually cas(Column Access Strobe) latency, ras (Row Address Strobe) precharge & Ras to Cas delay ... huh?

Memory is 'fluid' it needs the little iddy biddy magnets (how memory actually works - ask any 'old' techie about 'core store' ) 'recharging' at particular rates to preserve its state & thus 'remember' what its actually supposed to have in it ....

Start with 'biggest' numbers & try 'lower' ones if everything is funky ... memory timing mis-match errors usually result in no boot, but sometimes they just produce infuriatingly random errors that are hard to track ....
