    Blury Flat Panel Question

I have a new 19" flat panel monitor. I use is on a 2-way KVM. One PC has Winxp the other has 2000. I have noticed that the text and some other images are not as clear as the old 17" crt. Is it me? Is there a fix?

In XP there is the option to setup clear type fonts, definitely use that. Also, be sure you are at the optimal resolution for this monitor, should be in a manual, or on their web site. Additionally, there is an optimal refresh rate--higher is not better, usually between 60 and 72 Hertz, but again, consult the manufacture for their recommendations.

Check this article out for the XP Clear type, there is an option to better adjust the settings, an option not available in the OS itself...

Oh, I forgot to mention, with all of the tweaking and adjusting, the LCD is typically going to be blurrier than a CTR. This is by design, although not intentional. It is still a new technology, even though prices are coming down.

Also, start off by making the 19" LCD's resolution 1280 x 1024. That seems to be the norm for that size and it might clear up the fuzziness right off.

it's the kvm in the loop that makes it fuzzy....you just have to fudge around with the settings on the monitor (after optimal resolution is set on pc) .. i generally use the "auto levels" on the monitor.
