    Question Canon Multi 2500/ WINXP

I have a Canon Multipass C2500 which does not work in an Windows XP environment and Canon does not support XP for this model - their tech support has just said "sorry, too bad." Anyone know of a source for drivers that will allow this model to work? (I tried the drivers for the 3500 and they don't work and WinXP itself has no drivers for the 2500). Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yeah, you're right. Looks like Canon doesn't support the 2500 in WinXP.

The only other thing I could find was here. Towards the bottom of that webpage, it talks about "...using the BJC-4000 printer driver, the MultiPASS unit must be in Printer Mode.
For the MultiPASS C2500, simply press the Printer button on the top of the unit so that the green light above it is lit. Pressing the button again will return the MultiPASS to its normal (fax) mode."

This should allow you to print but you will lose your other functions. Sorry, I know this isn't what you're wanting to hear. If you find another solution, please post it here so that we might all learn from it. Good Luck!

Thank you for the response. If it will print using this driver that gets me at least a temporary solution. What I don't follow from the tech page is how to find and load the BJC-4000 driver from XP. Since XP reads the correct model of the printer when I try to install it (but then says there are no drivers), how do I force it to install from XP a driver that is for a different model of printer (the BJC4000)?

Thanks again for your help I really appreciate it. If I'm not pushing too hard, I also have a Canon Laser printer the LBP 465 that Canon doesn't support for XP, any similar kind of work around for that one?

Plug the printers in and choose the printer driver... do not allow it to search for the driver, select from a list.

Yeah, looks like Canon doesn't support the LBP-465 or the 460 in WinXP either.

Go here for FAQs on the LBP-460. Towards the bottom, it talks about using "the HP Laserjet IIP (PCL4 emulation) as your default printer." Might be something worth checking out...
