ddr400 question
Hello guys,
I just installed a corsair 512 stick on an Asus P4c800 deluxe board, is it natural that during bios POST the mem speed is indicated as 266, is this due to having only one stick? do I need a pair to function as ddr400? or was I duped, but the label on corsair mem is 5123200?
thanks ya all

I'd check bios settings for memory speed.

I'd say its a setting as well, maybe in the bios or on hte board itsself. Corsair is very good RAM so I doubt you were duped

it's DRAM frequency setting under the advanced options of the bios. set it to 400mhz and see what happens . . . . or if it's set to 266mhz, set it to auto and see if it picks up the RAM at 400
found it in the manual of all places
j/k
let us know if it works

Hi guys,
I just read that the Asus board needed exactly paired memory, otherwise its going to run in single channel mode, so this I guess is reason why its running in 266. I was planning for 1 GB so, that's why I bought 1 stick first, I guess i'll just wait for the next stick to test it finally if it will run in 400 mode
thanks guys
ur very helpful as usual

I'd imagine that corsair won't give you a problem but asus does have a list of supported memory for that board.
