Creative Ensonic 32Bit pci problems
I'm building a new system so alot of my old parts are going into a smaller system. So to save some cash on the upgrade I bought the afore mentioned card for the second machine. It detects and installs fine but it wont do what i want it to. Play mp3s and have sound under CS. I'm fairly sure it can support this, since the integrated I810 board i have in my 3rd machine can do it. Is there a settings i'm missing or a driver i need? Or is it just hopeless?

You will need to download and install the files from this link to get your soundcard working. The file you want is the first one on the page. Read the description carefully and also download the appropriate file for your version of windows as listed in the Description.

in reading my first post again i realize i may not have been clear. I want to play mp3s on winamp and have sound under CS at the same time. The two work fine independantly but not together.
Can i do this or is the card unable to support this?

You should be able to do these at the same time, I had onboard sound similar to yours a few months back and I did it all the time (playing WinAmp in the background while playing games with sound, for example). Unfortunately, I'll admit, I'm not sure what is causing the problem in your case, only that I'm pretty sure that it CAN be done.

I'm trying to get sound from winamp and CS at the same time, they work independantly but not together.
1st computer has I810 onboard sound and it works
2nd Computer has SBLive and it works
3rd computer has ensoniq audio whatever and it cant do both at once.

Sorry, I'm stumped! You've tried other drivers, swapping cards, to narrow down what is causing the problem?

Well i know it has to do with that card. I've tried other drivers for it and I know my SBlive will work on the same machine. Also i've done a clean install of 98 (for unrelated reasons) since this problem started. And still nothing.
I'm stumped to.
