WinXP stuck at 60hz refresh rate???
I read an article somewhere that Windows XP forces you to stay in 60hz all the time, and that you can change your refresh rate, but it actually stay in 60hz. Also when I play games I display my fps and they are a constant 60 fps, This is because WinXP is forcing me to have a 60hz refresh rate Im guessing? Can anybody confirm this for me or offer ways to fix it? thanks!

Get yourself the latest drivers from Nvidia and you can override the 60hz issue. If you don't have an Nvidia chipset I can't help you. You must seek the ATI Magic Indian. He will put you on the path to righteous drivers and utilities for your non-Nvidia card.

Hmm... In my nvidia settins is an option under directx for refresh rate overrides... I've been playing opengl games lately but I thought it worked for soldier of fortune II...

In addition to the video card, refresh rates are governed by the monitor. If you have an LCD flat panel, it will usually be limited to a 60 hz refresh rate, while CRTs support higher rates. Under display properties, take a look at the monitor settings. It should indicate the refesh rates that the monitor supports.

The limited refresh applies only to games.
SP1 fixed the problem.
