ES1968s drivers lead to reboot
I have installed a Sonic Impact S70 PCI sound card and am running windows 98 (upgrade). At start-up I am prompted to install the 'ESS device manager' drivers, and this is successful. Everything works fine untill I shut down, and upon restart (after the W98 logo page), the computer reboots itself and starts again in safe-mode. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice, thanks.

Use explore to find the ess legacy drivers on the W98 cd rom. Copy the 'AECU.SYS' file and replace the old "AECU.SYS" file in your sound-card drivers folder. I don't know any-thing about computers or why this works, and only discovered this after 48 hours of continuous experimentation and trial and error.
